The Audit

Find out where AI fits in your business, and who should run it.

A fixed-price audit for project-based service businesses. You get a clear plan, ranked opportunities, a look at how you and your managers keep goals, projects, and tasks organized, and a written description of the person who should run your AI. No hype, no black box.

This is for you if

  • You own or run a project-based service business, such as construction, landscaping, rental, or moving.
  • You want to use AI but are not sure where to start, or you tried it and it stalled.
  • You or your managers are juggling goals, projects, and tasks across too many places.
  • You are willing to name or hire someone to run it.

This is not for you if

  • You want a hands-off black box.
  • You are looking for a quick fix or a generic AI strategy deck.
  • You will not assign anyone to run the system.

Free option

Start with a free group session

Benjamin runs the session live, three times a week, for up to four companies at a time, all from similar industries. Nobody in the room competes with you.

You see how the eight steps of a project business work, where AI takes work off a team, and what a person still has to decide. The agenda is below, minute by minute, so you know what you are signing up for.

  • 30 minutes showing the advanced capabilities of AI for project-based companies, followed by a 30-minute question and answer session.
  • Three sessions a week, with up to four companies in each, from similar industries and none of them competitors.
  • Free. No sales pitch in the session.
  • Use it to judge whether a paid audit is worth it for you.

What we will cover

The 30-minute agenda

No mystery. Here is exactly what Benjamin covers, in order.

Minutes 0 to 5

Where AI really is for a project business

  • What it does well today, such as drafting, sorting, reminding, and checking.
  • Where it still gets things wrong, and why a person has to review the important parts.
  • Why most attempts stall: nobody is named to run it.

Minutes 5 to 20

Walking through the eight steps

Every job follows the same path. For each step, you see what AI can take off your team and what a person still decides.

  1. Initial meeting
  2. Spec out the work
  3. Quote or proposal
  4. Sell it
  5. Line up the resources
  6. Deliver and complete work
  7. Quality assurance
  8. Follow-up

Minutes 20 to 25

The manager's desk

The eight steps cover the work. This covers the person running it. For many owners and managers, this is where AI saves the most time.

  • Keeping goals, projects, tasks, and open questions in one place instead of in your head.
  • A weekly review that shows what is stuck, what is late, and what actually matters this week.
  • How Benjamin keeps his own goals, projects, and tasks organized with AI, and how it works on the tools you already use.

Minutes 25 to 30

Where to start, and who runs it

  • How to pick the first thing worth trying, so it is small enough to measure.
  • What the in-house AI operator does, and whether that is a new hire or someone you already have.
  • What a paid audit adds beyond this session.

Then, 30 more minutes

Ask anything about your own business

Bring a real job, a real bottleneck, or a tool you are wondering about. The group listens in and the questions are yours to steer.

You leave knowing which of the eight steps costs your business the most time, what is safe to hand to AI and what to keep, how a manager can stay organized and focused on what matters, and what the person running it does all day.

After the audit

If you want it installed

Companies with a project of at least $25,000 can apply for an install. Benjamin builds and installs the system himself, hands it to your operators, and supports it for six months.

An install usually takes four to eight weeks, and longer for larger companies. It is a separate project from the audit, with its own written scope and timeline. Pricing is custom, based on the size of your operation and what you want done. Monthly payment options are available.

Your audit fee is credited toward the install. Installs are by application. Benjamin takes one install at a time so each one gets his full attention, which means there can be a wait. Reserve your spot by requesting an audit below.

Benjamin Johnstone, founder of Jonroc

Who you will work with

Benjamin Johnstone

Benjamin started on the warehouse floor of his family's event rental company and worked his way up to general manager, running daily operations for a team of more than 35. He then launched Jonroc in 2011 and has spent the years since building websites and marketing systems for businesses in construction, events, and professional services.

You deal with him directly, from the first call to the readout. That is also why he takes one install at a time, and why it is worth reserving your spot early.

Audit FAQ

What most people ask before requesting an audit.

Do I need to buy an install after the audit?

No. Most clients take the plan and carry it out themselves. If you do want an install, your audit fee is credited toward it.

Is the audit only about the work crews do?

No. It also looks at how you and your managers keep track of goals, projects, and tasks, and how AI can help you stay organized and focused on what matters. For many companies, that is where the biggest time savings are.

Who needs to be in the meetings?

The owner or decision maker, plus the people who do the work you want to improve.

What do you need from us?

A list of the tools you use, a few sample documents such as a quote and a job file, and time for short interviews.

Do you work with my type of business?

If you run projects that follow the eight steps, probably. Tell us about your business in the form and Benjamin will say honestly whether it fits.

What happens to our data?

Confidentiality terms are part of the audit agreement, which you review and sign before kickoff.

How is the audit fee credited toward an install?

If you sign an install after your audit, the audit fee comes off the install price. The exact credit window is written into your audit agreement.
