The Story
From Sweeping Floors to
Running the Operation
The Beginning
Benjamin started his professional career on the ground floor of his family's event rental business. Literally, he started by sweeping warehouse floors, then moved up to dishwashing, and progressed through every position in the company until he arrived at General Manager.
For four years as General Manager, he ran daily operations for a company with over 35 employees and staff. He learned every part of the business: scheduling crews, managing inventory, handling customers, keeping the books straight, and dealing with the thousand small fires that come with running a service business.
A Problem Worth Solving
During that time, Benjamin discovered that a local web design company was overcharging his family's business for website work and online marketing. Young and stubborn enough to do something about it, he taught himself web development and took over the company's digital presence. That side project became a passion.
Two years later, with his family's blessing, Benjamin stepped away from the rental business to launch Jonroc full-time. Since 2011, Jonroc has served clients across the country, building websites and running marketing campaigns for businesses in construction, events, professional services, and more.
Seeing the Pattern
But the industry changed. Every business now runs on a stack of software tools that were supposed to make things easier, but mostly just added more screens to check. Benjamin saw the same pattern over and over: companies paying for a dozen subscriptions, teams copy-pasting data between platforms, and owners still doing manual work that should have been automated years ago.
And then there was the marketing problem. Every company Benjamin worked with had the same story. Online marketing ideas would come up in meeting after meeting. Everyone agreed they were important. A new social media strategy, a better website, an ad campaign that could bring in real leads. But nothing ever got done. And when something finally did get launched, nobody could tell you whether it actually worked. The return on investment was always a mystery. Thousands of dollars spent, and the best anyone could say was "we think it's helping."
The 15 years Benjamin spent in both the rental industry and digital services gave him something most AI consultants don't have: a deep understanding of how real businesses actually operate, from the warehouse floor to the back office. He's not selling technology for technology's sake. He's solving the same problems he used to deal with himself, just with better tools. And that includes the marketing side. Because a business that runs great operations but can't measure its own marketing is still leaving money on the table.
Where Jonroc Is Today
Today, Jonroc works primarily with construction companies and event businesses, two industries where complex logistics and high-volume operations make AI automation especially impactful. Benjamin's approach is straightforward: show up, understand the operation, install what works, and stay around to make sure it keeps working.
The Pivot
